Cam'Ron Shot After Leaving Club
Cameron "Cam'Ron" Giles, multi-platinum Diplomat/Asylum Records rapper and CEO of Diplomat Records, was shot after midnight October 23 at a light after leaving Cub H2O in Washington, D.C.
Driving by himself, Cam'Ron was approached by the car-jacker shortly after becoming separated from his security on Water Street. While Cam'Ron was sitting at a red light, the assailant approached the car, crabbed at the door and motioned for Cam'Ron to get out of the vehicle. Cam'Ron refused to give up his royal blue 2006 Lamborghini. The assailant then fired several shots at Cam'Ron. One of the bullets plowed through his arm and traveled into the other.
Cam'Ron drove himself immediately to Howard University Hospital. D.C. police immediately recovered the assailant's vehicle and cell phone.
Group members Juelz Santana, who was in town to promote his forthcoming sophomore album, "What The Game's Been Missing," and Jim Jones, who was additionally in town promoting his newly released album, "Diary of A Summer," arrived at Howard University Hospital minutes after Cam'Ron was admitted. The group was in the area performing at various night clubs in celebration of Howard University's Homecoming Weekend.
Cam'Ron is listed in stable condition.
"Cam'Ron will be just fine. He's in good spirits. He's cracking jokes and is expected to be released shortly. He even asked the nurse for her phone number when he woke up," says his manager, Joseph Sherman of New Era Entertainment.
Cam's next album and feature film, "Killa Season," will be released on February 14, 2006.
